Brazil and Erchi returned to Taiwan from Cambodia after completing their rabies antibody tests. Their arrival was scheduled after 180 days had passed from the blood sampling date, once they met the requirements for exemption from quarantine.
After completing the import quarantine procedures at the airport, the two cats could go straight home without spending seven days at a quarantine facility.
Since Taiwan introduced an exemption from quarantine for dogs and cats that meet certain conditions, many pet owners have chosen to plan the blood test and arrival dates in advance and wait until their pets are eligible before travelling to Taiwan.
In addition to the rabies antibody test and sampling date, the exemption is subject to application and documentation requirements. Each case should therefore be checked before departure.
Last year, the client brought their own cat from Cambodia to Taiwan. This year, they acted as the contact for a friend whose two cats were returning to Taiwan and entrusted Hai Wan with the arrangements.
